Page Numbering

I've read the information about page numbering at
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumbering.htm.

I still can't figure something out. I have a document with 2 sections. I
only want page numbering in section 2. I don't want any page numbering in
section 1.

Can anyone explain to me how to accomplish this? Thanks.

Hi Bill

Assuming your page numbers are in the footer ...

Go to section 2 in your document. View > Header and Footer. Click Switch
between Header and Footer. You'll see that you're viewing section 2's
footer. If the dotted line around the header says "Same as Previous",
then the footer in Section 2 is set to be the same as the footer in
Section 1. So you want to get rid of that. To do that, click the button
on the H&F toolbar that says "Link to Previous". The text "Same as
Previous" should disappear.

You've now got completely separate footers. Editing the footer in
Section 2 won't affect Section 1, and vice versa. So put your page
numbers in the Section 2 footer. Use the Show Previous command to go to
the Section 1 footer and delete your page numbers there.

My question relates indirectly to page numbering and section breaking - I hope you can help

I have a lengthy document in which I am using an outline similiar to this..
I. A. 1. (a).

I noticed that some of the outline has changed and I'm not sure why. When I go back into Bullets and Numbering, customize the Outline Numbered box has changed.

If I change back to the Outline Numbered box that I was using and then change to the correct outline number, it corrects my immediate text but makes other sections incorrect

Can you help?
