Hi,
I know how to do this on word 2007 (PC) but am stumped with mac as it tells me it can't number pages under '0'.

I have a document that has a cover page, title sheet, contents page and then starts. I only want to number from the beginning of the document and not number the title page and contents pages? How do i make the numbers start from page 3 or 4 instead of page 2 like it offers me?

In Mac Word, you do this exactly the same way as you do it in Word 2007:

1) Place a section break at the end of the front matter.

2) Disable "Same as previous"

3) Add page numbers to your remaining sections.

4) Use Format>Page Number to set your "Start at" value to the correct
number.

Let me know if you want more detail...

Cheers

Go into the Section 1 H/F & delete the page number field.

Sorry, but you have to follow the instructions "exactly". If you change
them around a bit, or do "something like that" then you get "doesn't work"
:)
