Page Numbers

I have a document with page numbers in footer. I can see
them in Print Layout View. When I try to view in print
preview they are not there, and they do not print out.
This is a multi section document. I sent this to another
user and it works fine for them. Help!! It's a brief for
a Prosecutor.

The Page Numbers are in the non-printable area of your printer. Typically,
there is a non-printable area all around the page, but on certain (older)
inkjets, this can be surprisingly large (1.67cm). Check in File, Page Set up
that the Bottom AND Footer margins are large enough.

This is a laser HP 4050, and I originally checked that
out. BUt what stumps be is that another user can print to
the same printer without the page truncating off. It
isn't just the page number it also appears that part of
the text is the last line is also chopped off.

In that case you may be encountering the margin problem that afflicts
certain LaserJets used with Word 2002 (the symptom is a 2.67" bottom margin,
or right margin on landscape pages). Many users have reported that the
"margin fix" drivers at http://www.hp.com/pond/ljbeta/index.html solve this
problem. If your margin is not that extreme, it may just be that you and the
other user are using different drivers for the same printer; some drivers
have a larger nonprintable area than others.

To add to Suzanne's reply, I've been told that reverting from the PCL6 to
the PCL5a drivers resolves the problem too.
