page numbers

Having trouble putting in page numbers.

1. bottom line which lists text status list the first page
I wrote as page 2 not 1. When I put in numbers it starts
with 2 not 3.

I triedthe obvious solutions. How to fix?

2. How do I put in page numbers in different formats such as;

"- 6 -" or "Page 6" (quotes for emphasis here,)

The best way to start is to avoid the Insert | Page Numbers dialog. If you
instead use View | Header and Footer, you can add any text you like to the
page number (which you insert using the Insert Page Number button on the
Header and Footer toolbar). For more, see
