Anyway to have MS Word 2003 to insert page numbers by default on all docs?

It is not recommended to add contents (such as page numbers) to headers
or footers in normal.dot, if that's what you are asking.

Instead, add page numbers to a document, formatted the way you want
them, and then save as a document template. Use the template when
creating documents with page numbering.
