Page Numbers

I'm writing a multi-page document, decided to insert page numbers. Chose
bottom of page. Changed my mind the next day, went back to Insert, chose
top of page. I thought that the bottom of page numbers would disappear, but
they are still there. How can I get rid of them?

Choose View - Header and Footer, go to the footer and delete the page number
field. Depending on your settings, you might need to do this for both the
first and the second page (i.e., if Different First Page is enabled, and if
you have page numbers in both places).

As Bob and Herb noted, you need to remove it in the View/Header and
Footer. Also note when you use Insert/Page Number the page number
field is inserted into a Frame so you'll need to delete that too - not
just the field inside the frame:

After viewing the Header and Footer, click the page number. You should
see a frame around the page number, place your mouse over the frame
and click to select the frame. Then press Delete to remove both frame
along with the page number.
