page only opens in CODE view

This just started, so it's probably something I did...all pages in all of my
sites only open in CCDE view withOUT the page view sub-toolbar being shown.
I can make changes in the code page and see the results with "preview with
browser" but the DESIGN view is not accessable. Help!
