Page will not behave

Hi, I have this page that will not behave. There should be a margin (left) of
4 px from my shared border and the text will not stay in full view but
instead I have to scroll to completely read. All tables are set at 100% and
yet the table with the pictures will not stay at 100% but slightly over. I
have redone this page to try to get it to behave and it won't . Can someone
tell me why?

Hi Catt,

You have at least two things (there might be more) contributing to this.

The table with the 4 images in it has each of the 4 cells set to about 215
pixels in width..that will cause scrolling. Try removing any width settings
on those.

Also the 4 pictures within that table total a little more than 800 pixels in
width..so you will either need to reduce their widths..or put them in
different rows.

Thanks Joe, I kind of had a feeling it was the set of 4 pix. The text over
one pict was not responding correctly.
I'll reduce as you say. Thanks for contributing....I learn something new
everyday here.

You really need to rescale those images in a graphics app before adding
them to your pages. Browsers have to read the full size image first, and
then rescale them. That makes the page take a long time to download.

Linda, thanks for the reply. Do you mean that if I bring a pict in thats,
say, 150 x 150 pix and shrink it in FP by grabbing a corner and rescaling it,
that the browser reads it at 150 x 150 and then has to process the
shrinking???

Yes, unless you click on Re-Sample button, etc., however the quality of your image will be adjusted,
so it is best to use a image application to re-size your image, so that you can maintain the
quality.

Thanks, very enlightening/ had no idea, therefore I will scale my pics before
I import them.
