I am running Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP1 on
a Intel P4.

I am Running Microsoft Word 2000(9.0.3821 SR-1)

I am printing on a HP laserjet 2200 Series PCL 6.
{
The driver is:
PCL 6 Driver Version 4.3.2.192 - Bld. 1256 - CRel 1256
(DEK 2.0)
}

While printing a 4 page document, I get page numbers in
the footer printed as
Page 1 of 1
Page 2 of 2
Page 3 of 3
Page 4 of 4

I unchecked the background printing flag Under Tools-
Options->print->background printing. But this did not
solve the problem.

Please help.

Our company just started experiencing similar problem printing from both Windows 2000 Pro and XP Pro Clients to HP LaserJet printers. In our case, the behavior you noted will happen randomly. Print to a different printer / driver, prints OK, but not consistently. We recently applied Office Updates, but are running Office XP with Windows 2002. Did your problem occur after updates to Word / Office 2000

Thanks, Susan

But that link doesn't explain why the printout problem should develop after nearly 2 years of using Word XP, also keeping up with the various Service Packs

I'm frustrated.

It's the service packs that are responsible (one of the recent SPs, perhaps
for Windows, seems to have broken this). MS is investigating the issue.
