Palm incompatibility

I can no longer Hot Synch my contacts to my Palm m505. I am using an iMac running OS 10.5.5, and I use Entourage (v 12.1.4) from Microsoft for my business contacts. The current version of Hot Synch Manager on my iMac is v 3.2. Is there an upgrade (a conduit?) that will restore the function of my m505? I've been told that Microsoft has deliberately abandoned Palm.

I haven't used a 505 in years however, the way you sync in Ent08 is
via sync services. There are issues with Ent08 sync services but if
you're just using Contacts you shouldn't have trouble. Set sync serv
in Ent prefs to Contacts and on first option overwrite iCal. Go back
in, turn off this pref, close prefs, go back in and turn on contacts
again but now choose combine. Give it a couple of minutes (can monitor
activity through Activity Monitor) to sync your contacts. You'll need
Missing Sync for the Palm but check compatibility first for the 505.
In Missing Sync choose overwrite handheld on first sync only and now
you're environments will be sync'd. Note: if you have more than one
module turned on in Ent08 prefs at the same time you'll get some nasty
sync's. If you don't need the relational capabilities of Ent08 just
use the Apple apps as there are no sync issues.

I got as far as Sync Services under General Preferences, and I have three choices: "Synchronize contacts with Address Book and .Mac", "Synchronize events and tasks with iCal and .Mac" and "Synchronize Entourage Notes with .Mac". Since the only place I found the word "Contacts" was in the first of the three choices, I selected that one. I then clicked OK, and the menu closed. I never saw any option to "overwrite iCal". So, I'm stuck there. What do I do next?

Thank you.

I just sent the question below, and I received site upon which to click for a reply. When I clicked on the site to which I was directed for the reply, no reply was there.

I can no longer Hot Synch my contacts to my Palm m505.

Entourage 2008 no longer users a conduit to Palm. Entourage now uses Sync
Services. Currently, there are many problems with Apple's Sync Services and
when you add a third party application like Microsoft Entourage to the mix,
you can get duplicates, lost data etc.

Microsoft didn't abandon Palm. They simply moved to Sync Services that
should provide more options for all devices.
