Palm LifeDrive Question

I bought a Palm LifeDrive last night from the Palm store and is scheduled
for delivery tomorrow afternoon. I have heard about issues with the new Palm
devices and synchronization with Entourage.

From the Entourage support page:
-----------
The Handheld Synchronization Conduit available in Office 2004 has the same
issues with these new handhelds as the conduit available for Office X. To
avoid accidental data loss, synchronization between Entourage 2004 and these
new handhelds is turned off by default. Follow this procedure to turn on
synchronization after both Palm synchronization software and the Microsoft
Handheld Synchronization software have been installed:

Launch the HotSync Manager application (usually located in
HD/Applications/Palm)
Under the HotSync menu, choose Conduit Settings.
Double-click the "Entourage Conduit" entry.
Near the bottom, check the option to "Enable synchronization with these new
handhelds."
Click OK.
------------

The way I read this is that it only has this issue with the new devices if
the "Enable sync with new device" is *not* checked. If I make sure this
option is checked, then I won't see this issue.

Am I interpreting this correctly?

PowerBook 15" 1.67 GHz, 1 GB RAM, Tiger
Entourage 2004 SP2
Palm LifeDrive

Thanks!

I think I wrote that, Walt. If this is on a Microsoft site, it's there
without permission.

You can read a little more about the issues here:

No, not quite. I'm sorry it wasn't entirely clear. Having the option
unchecked simply disables synchronization with the new Palm devices so that
new users who are unaware of the incompatibilities don't try synchronizing
and lose data by accident. If you check the option, it assumes you know the
incompatibilities, and then allows synchronization.

I believe it was on the MVP page someplace around here:
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/palm/index.html
I should have called it The Entourage Help Page, as it is really
called. My mistake.

Got it! Thanks for the help Mickey.

BTW, the LifeDrive is an awesome Palm. So far I have bought The Missing
Sync, and StickyBrain (for Memos). I sync it with iCal (including To
Do), Address Book, Adobe, Docs To Go, Pocket Quicken.

My handheld before the Axim X50 was a Palm m515, so much of my old
licenses still worked (pleasant surprise). The only one I haven't used
yet from my old stash was Agendus. I had something like version 5, and
they are on 10. I can get a discount, but I'm not sure I like the way
it looks anymore.

I'm working on a review and will post a link to it here when it's done.
Should be done today.
