Paragraph numbering

J

Jack

Please help!

I have recently started using Word 2003. I need to
number paragraphs as follows: the first level in the
centre of the page (1.) and thereafter the sub-paragraphs
from the left hand side of the page (1.1, 1.2 etc. etc.)
and thereafter the next level indented (1.1.1, 1.1.2
etc.).

I have tried using outline numbering but it refuses to
allow me to justify the first level in the centre and
resume the list justified from the left.

Thanks!

Centering is a paragraph format, not set in the Numbering dialog. If you
center a heading, you'll probably want to use spaces after the numbers
instead of a tab. Make sure you are setting up your outline numbering
according to the instructions at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html.
