Paragraph Numbering

J

Jeff

I need to setup a document which will automatically number paragraphs using
the following scheme:

[0001]
[0002]
....
[0010]
....
[0100]

I can make it work up to 100 where the numbers look like [00100]. I need it
to remain four characters throughout the number.

Can anyone please help?

John,

Thanks for the reply but it is not working the way I need. I only get a
single "[0001]". When I press return after typing the paragraph, it does
not generate the next number. Also, I need the numbers, including square
brackets, to be bold, but the remaining text of the paragraph to be normal.

Thanks again.

Jeff

Jeff,
Does this work?
{ SEQ test \# "[0000]" \*charformat}, select the SEQ part and apply bold.
You have to copy and paste that field to reuse it. Like John told you in his
reply of the 5th of April. Update by selecting the document and hitting F9.
Like he told you in his reply.

Hi Jeff:

Sorry: Luc is correct.

Using SEQ fields is a bit more complex than using List Numbering.

But currently it's the only way you can apply a Picture Clause to a
generated number in Microsoft Word.

Hope this helps
