Parameter query interfereing with totals

I have a report, based on a query, that provides a calculated total cost
field and a percentage field. These work just fine - until I add a parameter
query, then they stop working.

Any ideas on where to look for the problem?

Parameter queries should not interfere with totals. I expect there is
something about how you calculate your totals that you are not telling us.
