Pare 1 of 3 printing Page 1 of 1

I have a simple 3 page document with the footer set for Page x of y from
"Insert Auto Text". When viewing the page in "Print Layout View" or in "Print
Preview" the footer shows Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3 and Page 3 of 3. However
when I print the document it prints Page 1 of 1, Page 2 of 2 and Page 3 of 3.
I have also tried to manually enter the page numbering using the # for page
number and the ++ for number of pages with the same result.
Can anyone help please?

Thanks Stefan link solved problems, guessed entering manually would get same
result but thought it worth a try.

See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/apperrors/pagexofy.htm.

Note that when you add the page number and the total number of pages
manually instead of relying on the AutoText entry, you are still inserting
the same fields (PAGE and NUMPAGES), so naturally the result would be the
same.

I'm glad you got it sorted!

Stefan: I get "Page 1 of 1, Page 2 of 2," etc when I create a .pdf from Word
2007 when I do the "Fully Functional PDF." Pagination in the pdf is correct
(Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3, etc. when I use the "quick" method of making a
pdf, BUT the graphics are unacceptable. I know this is a Word bug, as I've
encountred it many times over the years, but I've installed all the MS
updates and it hasn't helped this time. Any suggestions?????
