parent and family buttons not working

I am infrequent user of FP. However, in the past I managed to produce a
personal web whch traces family geneoly back some 250 years and has about
fifteen hundred individual files of family members. As well as keeping a
copy on my hard drive I also retained a copy on a disk.

Recently I had trouble with my computer and replaced it.

Now when I import the file from disk using front fp, the up (parent) and
down(family) buttons no longer are printed or active. However, when I use
internet explorer I can move easily through the all the files and they all
seem to be working properly. The buttooms appear and work.

If I call up the navigator view and the click on a file in the 3rd or fourth
generations from start, the files come up with buttons working. However as I
move up, the first and second layers do not work.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so. how did you remedy it?

You need to publish a copy back from the live/remote server, however this requires the server is
running the FP extensions.

You need access to a copy the has the FP configuration file intact, that means any copy you open in
FP, must have been published or backed up (backup application), not copied, etc. Otherwise you will
have to rebuild the navigation structure.
