Part of File missing? Won't open.

R

Richard Osmond

I have a presentation I'm meant to be giving on Friday. Just had some
last-minute touching up to do. Imagine my horror when I got the
following message:

"Powerpoint cannot open ... because part of the file is missing"

Well I certainly haven't done anything to it since I saved and closed it
last night..... the only thing I can think of is that I do have some rather
large sound files embedded in it (it's a lecture on the history of the
recording industry and the sound extracts are triggered from
Powerpoint) - maybe this is the problem.... nevertheless surely it
should have told me it was having a problem saving??

In any case, what's omportant now is: can I recover any of it??
Please help asap :(

My system is:

G4 dual 867, 768 Mb Ram, MacOS 10.2.8, Powerpoint X Service release
1 (10.1.5)

Thanks in advance for any help....

Hi

Try opening a blank presentation. From the Insert menu choose Slides From
File and choose the file that went bad.
