Password Hack Needed for Outlook 2000 .pst Folders

L

Loren

My Outlook 2000 .pst folders somehow became password
protected. I downloaded a freeware program and it gave me
the first two characters, of which I would have never used
as a password. So the only thing I can say is that
Outlook must have done this all by itself! Whatever
happened, I don't know. I just need some help. Does
anyone have any suggestions on how I can hack into my .pst
folders?!?!

Thanks!

look on google.com for password recovery tools -there is a free one out that
works very well, the name of which escapes me right now;

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Loren asked:

No, it is an internal file from Microsoft that was supposed to upgrade the
..pst file format. It was released into the public and the name is one given
to it by the public, not Microsoft.
