Password not saved.

I am running Outlook 2007 and Vista. A dialogue box keeps poppingf up
asking for your password. It does not save it even when you ckeck the Save
password.. box. It's very obtrusive to have this popup in your face all the
time.

Several people have suggest deleting the %application
data%\Roaming\Microsoft\Protect folder. I tried that and rebooted. All it
did was recreate the folder.

This happened out of the blue and is I can no longer access my mail from
Outlook.
