Password not saving in Outlook XP

I can not save my password even when I check the box? I
have Office XP and XP Professional. I searched the
microsoft database and searched and found; Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article - 290684 - OL2002: The Save
Password Setting Is Not Saved When You Connect to a POP3
Server but it does not say how to fix it in the XP
Professional version? Please Help!!!
