password probs in outlook after vista upgrade

Scallyman

Hi. I upgraded to vista, and am running office pro XP. every time I sign on
to outlook, it asks me for passwords, even though I have previously ticked
the box to ask to remember. Any ideas?

It is a known issue since Outlook 2002 writes the password to protected storage which does not exist in Windows Vista. Upgrade to Outlook 2003 or 2007.

How about Microsoft making a patch that will make either Outlook 2002 or
Vista compatible with one another?

Why is it that every new "compatible" operating system requires us to buy
our whole repertoir of software all over again??? This is why people are
switching to Mac and Linnux at record paces! We don't WANT to buy everything
every year or two- we want it to continue working as promised with each new
OS.

Bill's stuff is well known for not liking other Bill's stuff. Not
everyone can afford to shell out a couple of hundred dollars to
upgrade to the newest Office system (this coming from someone who
likes the new Office 2007 features for the most part). Especially
after paying hundreds of dollars on a new computer.

Office XP and earlier will only receive security updates as they are out of mainstream support. Sorry - but it happens with all software. Newer operating systems/computer systems require newer software. Try running that 16 bit game you loved so much on Windows 95 on Windows Vista?
