Password Protect a Directory

how would I password protect a directory currently
implemented the following

kbid=825498&product=fp2003#3
Which just protect the page a .asp page
how would I protect a whole directory?

Your host would have to do this, otherwise with ASP you can only protect individual .asp pages.
