password protect document

Hi

Hope I've post this in the correct group.

I had password protected a template, initially it was working (ie.
protected) but now when opening it as read only, you can alter the
headers and footers. Don't understand it.

Anyone any suggestions?

Read-only usually means that you can't save the contents to the same file,
not that you can't alter the contents while it's still in memory
