Hello,
I've got an Excel spreadsheet that is located on our company's intrane
that is password protected for editing. This means that if you open th
file, it prompts the user for a password. If the password is properl
entered, the user can make changes and save the document back to th
directory. If the password is not properly entered, the file opens u
as read only.
This works fine when anyone opens the file directly from the folde
where the file is located. But if the user goes to the intranet an
clicks on the link that opens the file, it only opens up in read-only
and never prompts the user for a password.
Is there any way I can get the file to prompt the user on the intrane
as well?
The way I set the password was File --> Save As --> Tools --> Genera
Options --> Password to Modif
