Password Protecting a folder of word documents, not simply a document?

Yes you can but not through Word but using Windows Explorer. You also
need to log in as administrator.

Just right-click on the folder and select properties. Then select
"sharing and Security" and make it private. You can also assign it to a
particular user so that he/she doesn't need to enter password when
viewing the files. Hope this gives you the idea.
