By Server type he meant Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Apache etc... If you
aren't sure you can ask your ISP or open your site in FrontPage and choose
Tools, Web Settings and it will tell you. If it shows "IIS" then it's a
Windows Server.
As for setting permissions, your web host may not allow you to set your own
permissions but here are the steps:
1. Open the site in FrontPage
2. Create a new folder and copy the files you want protected to it
3. RIGHT-click on the folder and choose "Convert to Web". This will create
a sub web (folder with a little globe).
A "sub" web can have it's own properties and security settings.
4. Double-click on the new sub web to open it.
5. Choose Tools, Security, Permissions.
6. Choose UNIQUE permissions from the root.
7. Under the users tab add the users that you want to have browse access.
If you give them more access (such as Author or Administer) then they can
open the site in FrontPage and make changes.
Step 7 is the one your ISP may not allow you to do on your own. If it's
grayed out then you'll need to call them to set the permissions.

Sorry, I'm not that computer literate. The server is an ftp? ( don't know
if that's what you mean). I am already publishing our clinic website on
yahoo (
www.pahle.com), but this is one I'm trying to do on my own time for a
management group that I am a member of (
www.wvpma.com). The host is
Infinity Technology and I'm not familiar with it. It is the company that
was already set up and the person that was developing the site was using
Dreamweaver. Well, needless to say, I don't have Dreamweaver and she said
her techies would try to find out something about FrontPage, but I haven't
heard anything so far. I'm pretty much learning on my own, so any input
would be helpful. Also, English would also be helpful, I'm a real dummy at
this.
