It prints fine here in PowerPoint 2003 SP-1 and PowerPoint 2002 SP-3. Per the
information that we have from Microsoft, I don't think you will be able to print
it until you install Office XP service pack 3. If your organization subscribes
to MSDN they might have the service pack on CD, but if not they can definitely
download it from the MSDN site.
Your IT person doesn't know know what he's talking about. If our contact in
Microsoft says that the problem was explicitly fixed in service pack 3 then I
believe him. Each service pack is made up of changes that address known
problems and they are very well documented in the release notes. That's why
it's important to stay up-to-date, so that you don't suffer from old problems
that have been resolved long ago.

I have tried to install SP-3 but have had troubles doing so (it times out
from the server and won't finish loading).
I have spoken to someone in IT at my company and he seems to think that this
fix will not actually address the problem. (?) I have little choice but to
use an alternative (more cumbersome) workaround, however I will send a sample
file to Sonia to see if anything more can be done.

Thanks. I'll try that and see how I go.

Correction to the update:
Make that SP-3 for Office XP which is supposed to have fixed this problem.
Guess that makes Sonia's suggestion to keep current on all SPs even more
important!

Update:
Charlie, apparently this problem is fixed with SP-2 for Office XP.
See if installing that service pack resolves the problem.
