Password protection on documents

I have a user who has an Excel document password
protected. Is there any way to 'break' the password
protection. I also need to know how to 'break' this if it
happens in Word.

.

Unfortunately, Microsoft cannot help you break a password
(nor should anyone) - that would defeat the purpose of
passwords! And although there is no LEGIT way to crack a
password, that doesn't mean that there is not a way to do
it (there are plenty of hackers out there...)

HTH!

Hi,

Yes, it is possible to find the password required to open an Excel file.

There are many good tools available for this purpose:

There are also professional password recovery services available:

http://www.intertek.org.uk/

N.B. You must NOT open any file unless you are fully authorised
to do so.

C.B.
