Password showing instead of user

We have come across a small problem while trying to access a protected
workbook while it is in use by someone else. When the message box comes up
to tell that the file is currently being amended, would you like to open it
as read only or be notified when it becomes available.

Instead of showing the user that is currently using the workbook it actually
shows the password!

Has anyone else come across this or is this a one of! As it certainly
doesn't happen on other files I've tested!

I've never seen it.

Do you know who the other user was? If yes, I'd go to that pc and have that
user start excel and then do Tools|options|General tab

and look for the username.

Maybe the user typed the password there by mistake.
