Password to access site

Is there any way to have Front Page request a password, or is this done
through the server. It would only have to be a generic password, ie not
individual. Minimal security for group access.

Everyone would have to use the same user account which is then associated with full FP authoring
rights.

I'm currently using free web space provided with my high speed internet
account. Can I set up passwprd access using FP, or typically is this
something that requires the server to set-up or a server utilizing FP
advanced functions?

It would be either...

1. Something provided by your web host
2. If you host support FP, Subwebs / Sites and allow unique permission then yes via FP.
3. Using a database and server-side scripting, such as PHP, ASP, etc.
