Password works with FP 2000 not FP 2003

I purchased a new computer and installed FrontPage 2003 on it. I have
a website that I developed with FrontPage 2000. Now I cannot log into
the website with the new 2003 version. I can go back to my old machine
which is still running FP 2000 and log into the site without any
problems. What gives???

Thanks for your help.

I have written a post similar to the one I am writing you now in
response to problems people are having which seem to be a lot like ones
I had. I fixed all my problems finally and am happy to share the
solutions I found - I hope they work for you too.

I had a lot of problems initially when I bought a new XP Media Center
computer last month (upgraded from 98SE). FP 2000 worked fine but FP
2003 did not, so I knew the problem was with MY new computer, not with
my web host etc. I finally solved all of my probs - but not without a
lot of grief.

It sounds like there are one or more "flags" that are set wrong in the
new computer - and that is blocking your connection with your website.
You may not have set the flag wrong - it may have come from the factory
with the wrong presets, or IE or the Microsoft Firewall may be blocking
you.

Here was the key for me: I found the wecerr.txt file (the wecerr.txt
is in your Temp folder and is created to log error codes). If you plug
that entire error text (typically a 10-12 word sentence) in Google,
you'll find the exact Microsoft page dealing with the error, plus other
independent sites that have web pages dealing with that particular
issue.

Let me know how it turns out!
