Password

When I receive a word file protected by password I don't
know and click on read-only choice the file simply does
not open, word remains blank (grey page) and nothing
happens ...

It happened all in a sudden, before it was ok and I can't
figure out what's changed.

I have Office 97 Pro and Win2K.

Anyone can help ?

If a file has a "password to modify," then you can open it as read-only. If
it has a "password to open," then you can't open it without the password.
