Word 97 - when I password a document to open and modify,
then email that document as an attachment to another
person, it cannot be opened. Shows as a blank page. If I
remove the password on the modify option it does open.
this happens on our PC's with XP only.

Hello Marian,

I have attempted to reproduce the issue with no success so I'm assuming
that the issue is something specific with what and how you complete the
task. Does this happen with every person that you send that particular
document to? Does this happen if you take a copy of the E-Mail to the
recipient and copy the file to their hard drive and open it? If it opens
successfully then the issue is most likely with your E-Mail client or with
the E-Mail Host. These types of issues sometimes happen if you use AOL as
your ISP. You might want to test sending a blank E-Mail to the recipient
with both passwords set. This would help to rule out corruption in the
document. Do you have Office 97 SP-2 installed? Have all Windows XP patches
been installed.
