Paste into Word failing

I'm in the process of updating all our Visio documentation, so I'm doing a
lot of copying of shapes from Visio and pasting them into Word. I haven't
had any issues until this morning, when I hit a shape that just wouldn't
paste correctly.

When pasted into Word, instead of getting the shape I copied, I just get a
white box. This happens no matter what "Paste Special" option I choose. If
I paste as a Visio object, I can double-click on the box, see the shape
exactly as it appeared in Visio, and make changes. But as soon as I click
away, the shape vanishes, and I'm left with a white box.

Word and Visio are both 2007. I can't think of any differences between this
shape and the other shapes that have worked.

Any thoughts?

Try:

Paste>Paste Special>Picture (Enhanced Metafile)

I recently found this was the best way to take shapes from Visio 2003 to PPT
2007. I've tested into Word 2007 and it appears to function similarly.

I already tried this; I still get the same thing.

For now I just did a screen shot of Visio and went from there. It's not
perfect, but it'll get the job done.
