Paste is grayed out...

Hi,
I had this problem before and forgot the cure.

When I copy text, say on a web page-then I open Word
(2003) when I RIGHT CLICK, the PASTE button is grayed out
and I can't paste the text.

I vaguely remember something about something was clearing
the clipboard or something like that when it (Word)
starts...

Please help me cure this problem.

Thank you very much in advance for any help and info.

If you got Word as part of Works Suite, then one of the many nasty habits of
the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word is that it clears the Clipboard
when you start Word. If you are running Word freestanding (not starting it
from the Works Task Launcher), you can (and should) uninstall this add-in
(through Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs). This does not uninstall Works
or Word, just the add-in that links them.

If Works Suite is not the culprit, then it may be that you have another
clumsy add-in clearing the Clipboard. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CheckIfAddinsInstalled.htm

Suzanne,

Hi and thank you for the information.

I had two add-in's in the startup folder. I really didn't
think that they we're the culprits but I removed them
anyway. That worked!

Turns out the culprit was an add-in called AddrFixr which
is supposed to look up addresses to see if there correct.
I would rather have the Paste function work correctly so
I'll leave it out..

Thanks again for your help...
