Paste special in Word 2003

Joseph

When copying a portion of a spreadsheet from Excel 2003
and performing a paste special picture(as an enhanced
metafile) the spreadsheet is not visible until I mouse
click just before the paragraph symbol where it was
pasted. The spreadsheet is positioned up in the header
area. By double clicking on the spreadsheet, I set the
layout to advanced, selecting 'other, advanced, text
wrapping top and bottom wrapping'. The picture position
is set to "-7" below relative to paragraph. When I set
this to 1" the picture is in a good position to move. If
I drag it lower in the page it's okay. If I drag it up
the spreadsheet disappears into the header and the
relative position is set back to "-8.5" below relative to
paragraph". This worked fine in Office 2000.

Hi Joseph,

pasted.
This could be a problem with the graphics card driver...

I'm not clear whether you're working in the header view, or
in the main document. The latter, I get the feeling? The
reference to the header is just for the position on the
page?

The "jumping around" is something that can happen in all
versions of word, and often indicates that the paragraph
marks where the graphic is anchored may be slightly damaged.
On the whole, it's better to set the position using the
dialog box rather than the mouse, once this starts. (Or
convert the document to plain text to shake out all the junk
that may be interfering.)
