Paste Special XP word

How do you clear paste special?
The Box has two optons
paste
paste as link

I used the link to paste to next page but it did not work
Now the paste link is grayed out and can't be used.

Hi Rock,

The choices on the Edit=>Paste Special menu
will vary with the contents of what you have most recently
put in the clipboard with Ctrl+C or right click=>Copy,

If you're in Word 2002 or 2003 you can clear the
clipboard through View=>Taskpane and choosing the Clipboard
taskpane.

Hi Rock,

I'll see this occaionally when copying/pasting from Excel.
The reason is this option can disappear is if the
application where you copied the data doesn't actually put
the information ON the clipboard, but just links through
it. If something disturbs that link, then the Clipboard
can't offer all possible options.

You need to try copying the original data again.
