pasted picture only show a blank box

It just happen recently. While I am trying to insert a
picture, even jpg, from files, word 2000 only shows a
blank box. When right click to edit the picture, it shows
well on the editing page. I don't know why, any ideas?

Doug Robbins - Word MVP - DELETE UPPERCASE CHARACT

From the Tools menu, select Options and then go to the View tab and uncheck
the Picture placeholders box.
