Pasted vector logo prints upside down and split horizontally

Using Word 97 and Windows XP. I designed a logo for our church which has a cross, and beside it the name of the church in a large font, a line below it and several words below the line, done in a vector drawing programme (DrawPlus 6) so that it can be resized as required in Word without a loss of quality. When copied and pasted into Word it looks fine on the page but, when printed, the cross is upside done with part of it sheared off, both the word and the phrase are split in half with the top half now below the bottom, and the large (split) word is at the bottom instead of the top! It prints perfectly if copied into Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Visio – snag is we want to use it almost always in Word! Any idea what’s going on? Many thanks.
