Pastes in words "screen clipping taken" with date/time but no imag

Weird problem. Using ON2007 with SP1 on Win XP Pro OS. No matter how I try
to use screen clipping (from an open ON page hitting "insert" "screen
clippping" OR from right-clicking on ON icon in system tray & selecting
"create screen clipping") here's what happens: screen dims, I select an
area, and then in OneNote page it open a small text box which says "Screen
clipping taken: 3/16/2009, 12:30 AM" and that's it. No image comes in. The
only way I can get anything to come in is from IE (7.0) when I hit the "Send
to ON Icon" button with the blue arrow: THEN the entire page complete with
photos, text, etc., opens up in a new OneNote. I've messed around with the
screen clipping default on the task bar icon -- no difference.

Also, I tried this on my son's PC running VISTA and screen clipping worked
perfectly. Is this a problem with XP PRO users only? Seems strange that I'd
be the only one having the issue.

Have you run menu: Help-Office Diagnostics...?

Have you ever been able to clip with this computer?

I ran Office Diag, and everything checked out except for "Setup Diagnostics,"
which reported that it "Repaired all Microsoft Office install'n problems it
could find." Closed everything, opened, and same problem with either way of
using screen clipping: no image, just the words were inserted in ON, in
gray, "Screen clipping taken: 3/16/2009, 11:26 AM."

This computer clips from Adobe Acrobat 8 into other MS apps, etc., just
fine. It cuts and pastes graphics just fine. In fact, I just upgraded to
Snagit 9, and downloaded the "send directly to onenote" add-in, and it DOES
work and sends whatever I "cut" with snag-it to a new Snag1 OneNote page, so
I can solve my problem by going thru Snagit now (since last night when I
originally posted.)

Also, interestingly, the "power toy" OneNote icon button in IE 7 doesn't
work either. It returns a message saying "Sorry, Send to OneNote PowerToy
could not create the page in OneNote for some reason. Perhaps the
destination section is read only but there could be other reasons." (The
other ON icon in IE 7 does work, transferring ALL the page's graphics and
editable text into a new ON page.)
