Pasting 1 value in entire column

Access is a database, not a spreadsheet like Excel. Cutting and pasting
seldom are appropriate with databases.

Try creating an Update query to insert the value.

Hi,

Another question - is there a way to paste the same value
in an existing table in a new column quickly. Have to
enter 630 in a new column, in about 1000 records.

PC Datasheet

Create a query based on the table and only include the new field in the query.
Change the query to an Update query by clicking on the query type button on the
toolbar at the top of the screen. A new row labelled "Update to" will appear in
the query grid. In the new field column put 630. Run the query and every row in
your table will have 630 for the new field.
