pasting an excel metafile into ppt - lose text color

Don't know if this is a powerpoint or excel question/issue. When I copy a
portion of a spreadsheet from excel that contains colored text, and paste it
using paste special - excel metafile into a ppt slide - i lose the color text
- all the text comes in as black text. Anyone know why or how to fix?

Install a color printer driver and set it as the default printer.
