Pasting from a list unformatted

I have several multilevel lists in a document. I would like to be able
to copy just the text from selected list items to other places in the
document and have them assume the formatting of the destination.

I have changed the default formatting options to make that happen, but
I thought it used to work that way if I used Paste Special
(Alt+Ctrl+V) and selected "Unformatted text".

I am I delusional?

I'm not sure what you think you might be delusional about. Pasting
unformatted text should certainly work. What you may find is not working is
the keyboard shortcut, as there is no built-in shortcut for
EditPasteSpecial. You may well have assigned this one in a previous version,
and you can do so again.

I don't recall assigning the keyboard shortcut, but it is working --
that is, it does bring up the Paste Special panel.

What causes me to question my sanity is that it seems to be working
differently today than it did a few days (or maybe week) ago.

Maybe Acrobat changed those settings, too. We already caught it red
handed changing some other settings.

Maybe Jobs is right about the Abode programmers.

I certainly hold no brief for Adobe. My new version of Acrobat (9.0) is
proving to be quite problematic, not just in nuisance behavior but in
fundamental ways (such as silently eating two lines of text from a converted
document), but at least it no longer disables Tools | Options | Print:
Update fields every time you use the Word add-in.

I have version 9 as well. It still screws up the Search options.

Back to pasting. Is there a way for me to create a pair of keyboard
shortcuts to (1) paste and keep source formatting and (2) paste and
adopt destination formatting?

Probably, but it would, I think, require a macro, and I am not VBA-enabled.
