Pasting Images from Files

I'm getting 2 really annoying things happening with Powerpoint XP when
building slides with images from file eg gifs.

Firstly if I delete one it puts an object in its place asking me to
"Click icon to add content".

Secondly when I am pasting the second or third gif onto a slide it
moves and resizes the existing ones there totally messing up the
formatting of the slide I've already set up.

Can anyone help?

Go to Tools > AutoCorrect > AutoFormat As You Type and uncheck the bottom
item - Automatic layout for inserted objects. That should take care of it
for you.
