Pasting over 255 characters

I have tried pasting more than 255 characters into a cell with word wrap on
in Excel 2000. I know this is the maximum allowed in a column, but the
specifications say I should be able to dsiplay at least 1,024 characters.
Any other suggestions besides word wrap?

Never mind - the problem was that I was pasting from a text field in Access
which is limited to 255 characters.
