Pasting pictures into Word 2003

I'm 'aving a bit o' trouble pasting pictures in to Word 2003. A fortnight ago
I 'ad no problem simply copying and pasting. Now, 'owever, every time I try
to paste I get a load o' text indicating the hyperlink path (but isn't
actually a hyperlink) or something similar. I can see it in Print Preview but
it's no good if I want to place t' picture to a specific location on t' page.
I've taken a quick look at possible fixes but the Picture Placeholders is
unchecked and Displays is checked. Also no change when I reduced the hardware
acceleration to None.
I've just overwritten the vga.dll with an updated version to no avail either.
Any ideas most welcome!

Press Alt+F9 to toggle the display from field codes (what you're seeing) to
field results.

Hey, it's remarkably simpe when you know how isn't it? Thanks very much. It
had been driving the family nuts. Now all I need to do is look up what field
codes do.
