Patch Package cannot be opened

I have read several threads that deal with the same issue, i.e. - installed
larger HD using vendor utility to copy, now cannot run Office and receive
"Patch package cannot be opened".

I have verbose log from failed uninstall. Can anyone help?

and if you repair Office via the cd?

Nothing can be done abt this problem, Use windows installer clean up utility
to remove office 03.

I receive the "patch package cannot be opened..." when I:
Try to use the MSOffice 2003 SBE CD to repair or install
Try to use Add/Remove programs to Change or Remove

I have used the install cleaner tool, rebooted and tried again with the same
result.

As I indicated I have the verbose data from the failed install in case
anyone wants to help me find which reg entry or patch package need to be
removed.
