Patch Package error on reinstall

I am trying to reinstall office 2000 on my 98 machine.
Lighting power surge caused for the reinstall. When
running setup off the disk, it looks on the a: drive two
seperate times and then reads this error. "This patch
package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package
exisits and that you can access it, or contact the
application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows
Installer patch package." I then checked my Windows
Installer and it is the latest 2.0 version offered. Is
there a fix to this? Thanks!

I used the cleaner file as reccomended but still no change
in the error message. Do you have another suggestion?

My guess would be that you didn't clean enough stuff out with the
installer utility, so the installer program is still looking for the
same patch as earlier or maybe it's looking for a different patch now.
