Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Hi,

I am not tech/program savvy and need some help. I have had some work done by a provider in elance in PC excel 07 and now i can not read the spread sheet in my Mac environment. The provider is saying that MAX and PC excel versions are 100% compatible - I disagree and need to know the differences

1. What are the file extensions for MAC excel? Do they differ from PC excel?
2. What are the differences between MAC excel 08 vs PC excel 07?

Thanks

Hi,

The file format for Windows Excel is identical to the file format for
Mac Excel. That's one variable you can rule out.

The MAX worksheet function works the same in 2008 and 2007 Excel.

There's no VBA in Excel 2008 - that means macros and add-ins won't run.

There's no Active-X on the Mac - that means things made in Active-X
won't work, but there's always a non-Active-X way to do things to get
around this problem.

Some pivot table stuff isn't supported in 2008, and Text styles are not
supported in 2008.
