Unfortunately this useful feature is not included in Office 2003.

No because the PDF technology is licensed to Adobe and they're in no hurry
to license it to MS.

Well whoever told you that, I suggest you correct them and don't listen to
them in the future.

There are cheaper ways of getting a pdf writer than adobe.

Here is one I never used so can only recommend because
the link has been on my computer a long time.

I tried another free version that came from a publishing company,
maybe it was this on in an earlier incarnation.

My company has a site license - but instead I use a free one
that came with adobe photodeluxe 3 that came with my digital
camera.

Wordperfect12 has an Publish to PDF feature, but it can't read PDF's

You can use Open Office from Sun. It will create PDF files from your Word
files or create new ones. It is free. Find it at....
